YOUR FERTILITY DAYS

5 WAYS TO DETERMINE YOUR FERTILICAL DAYS

01

OVULATION TESTS

Ovulation tests are easy to use and measure important fertility hormones in your urine. They detect the LH surge with a very high degree of reliability and can calculate your days when you are most likely to get pregnant. Ovulation tests are offered by different manufacturers in different price segments.

02

THE CALENDAR METHOD

If you have a regular menstrual cycle, you can try to determine when you ovulate by noting the length of your cycles on a calendar. In order to get a complete picture, the cycle must be observed for several months and the cycle duration must be precisely documented. With a very regular menstrual cycle, ovulation usually occurs 12 to 16 days before the start of the next period. However, even with a regular cycle, ovulation can be delayed by several days.

03

BASAL TEMPERATURE

Your basal body temperature increases by 0,4 to 1,0 °C after ovulation. At this point, however, it is already too late to improve the chances of conceiving in the current cycle. To use this method successfully, you need to measure your basal body temperature every morning before you get up. It takes several menstrual cycles to get a full picture of your fertile window. There are also many factors such as sleep patterns, travel, and alcohol consumption that affect basal body temperature.

04

CERVICAL MUSCLE

Throughout your menstrual cycle, the consistency and amount of cervical mucus (a secretion secreted by the glands in the cervix) changes. The mucus may be sticky or spinnable (stringy), whitish, or cloudy. During the days leading up to ovulation, the mucus is clear and spinnable and is often compared to raw egg whites. By noting the changes, you can determine the date of ovulation and find out your fertile days. The main advantage of this method is that you can simultaneously get to know your body better and get a feel for the changes that take place in your body during a menstrual cycle. However, it may take some time before you can correctly interpret your body's signs. In addition, the characteristics of cervical mucus are also affected by other factors, such as infections, certain medications, and sexual intercourse.

05

MENSTRUATION APPS

Another method is menstrual apps. Here you can enter the duration of your period and the symptoms that you notice during your cycle. The app uses this information to calculate your cycle and can tell you when you will ovulate.
